The Human Resources Director designs, implements, and administers HR programs and services to help improve the performance of MP and the employee experience. This position is responsible for managing a small team that recruits and onboards new teammates, administers employee benefits, develops company policies, leads performance management, addresses employee relations concerns, and oversees HR projects.

By partnering with MP's Leadership, Managers, and Teammates, the HR Manager identifies short and long-term HR needs for the organization as well as for each department. The HR Manager works to ensure that the MP team has what they need so that they can continue to focus on the business.


  • Lead a small HR team that is responsible for hiring top talent that fit our values and consistent upskilling of team members.
  • Empower managers with resources, insights and coaching that enable their teams to perform well.
  • Enhance the organization's performance by planning, implementing, and consistently evaluating our workforce management systems and technologies.
  • Serve as a sounding board for CEO relative to people matters.
  • Ensuring that MP's business practices comply with federal and state employment regulations.
  • Handle any disciplinary processes and formal grievances.
  • Set and review compensation structures.
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Provide managers with tools to assess performance objectively through the utilization of metrics-based performance management and improvement systems. Provide CEO with performance metrics for all roles within our company.
  • Personalize development programs for team members throughout our company with our internal training leader.
  • Counsel managers on candidate selection by leveraging behavioral and cognitive assessment tools.
  • Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting onboarding and training programs.
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide insights to CEO.
  • Conduct employee engagement surveys and provide insights to CEO & managers.
  • Facilitate our program and annual core value awards.
  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee performance & skills through our performance metrics by training managers to coach their employees.
  • Participate in an industry peer network of HR leaders.
  • Implement and manages employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends.
  • Retain historical human resource records electronically.
  • Cultivate a performance mindset and open feedback throughout our company.
  • Deliver HR administration in all areas of human resources including but not limited to benefits enrollment, paperwork, and scheduling.
  • Take accountability/ownership for core people metrics of the business including employee retention, employee turnover, time to fill positions, as well as others.
  • Drive and support Diversity & Inclusion efforts for the company.


  • 4+ years of HR Generalist experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Strong business acumen and confidence to provide consultation to both C-suite and entry level teammates.
  • Proactive, results-oriented self-starter who is passionate about exceeding expectations with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge of payroll and HCM processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and drives for results.
  • Personable with the ability to build quick trust and relationships.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to rapidly connect with people.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
